Hi guys! Welcome back to my another blog. Today I will tell you some adventurous things to do in Sikkim. There are many amazing places in Gangtok and visiting them is a wonderful adventure that will leave you with a trasure trove of precious memories that last forever. So without wasting time let's begin....


1. GOECHA LA TREK





The Goecha La Trek is one of those things to do in Sikkim that will surely stay in your memory forever. The Goecha La Trek takes 10 days to be completed and it’s only moderately challenging. 

It’s perfect for all the trekkers because the Goecha La Trek is more rewarding than demanding. When you reach the height of 4940 feet at the end of the trek, the sight of Kanchenjunga will welcome you with all its majestic glory.


2. RAFTING IN TEESTA RIVER




Teesta is the most important river in the state of Sikkim. From Lhamo Lake, where it’s created, River Teesta flows through the entire state and it has become the lifeline of Sikkim. With exciting rapids spread all over the river’s course, there is plenty of opportunity for rafting in Teesta.

3. KANCHENJUNGA BASE CAMP TREK




If you are looking for adventurous things to do in Sikkim then the Kanchenjunga base camp trek will be best for you. This fulfilling and challenging trek is 90 km long and it takes about 10 days to complete the trek. 

Starting from Yuksom, you will trek up to Bakkhim while enjoying the view of the Himalayan range that stays with you during the journey. The Kanchenjunga base camp trek is challenging but it also the one that’s on every trekker’s to-do list.


4. PARAGLIDING IN GANGTOK




Sikkim has become a hub of adventure sports in recent time. Because of the high altitude and beautiful valleys, the state of Sikkim is great for paragliding. Because of this, the capital city of Sikkim attracts a lot of tourists who enjoy paragliding. 

You can visit Pangthang, Bojoghari village, or Tashi View Point to find a paragliding service. You can rent the necessary equipment from them and let yourself glide over the green forests and wild rivers of Sikkim.


5. ROPEWAY IN GANGTOK




Riding the cable car is one of the most exciting adventures activities in Sikkim that people of all ages can enjoy. If you want to enjoy the ride to its fullest then start from Deorali, its

 lowest station, and complete the entire ride. Try to find a spot near the window so you can enjoy the view of the mountains and the valley down below.


6. CYCLING ON SILK ROUTE




Cycling on the silk route is another adventurous thing to try in Sikkim. The journey starts from the Sillery Gaon. You can reach there by car from the NJP railway station. There are professional tour organizers who will provide you with the cycles and other necessities. The week-long tour offers some of the best views of the mountains around Sikkim. You will camp overnight in specific halts set by the organizer where you can restock your food and water


7. VISIT TSOMGO LAKE




The Tsomgo Lake is one of the most visited places in Gangtok, the capital city of Sikkim.The lake is also known as the Changu Lake and it’s made of glacier water. You can hire a car from Gangtok to reach the Tsomgo Lake, located at 12310 feet. 

The lake is 35 km from the city and an early start will make your visit even more spectacular. The lake is surrounded by mountains and during the winter season, the surrounding areas stay covered in snow. The beauty of the entire scene is breathtaking.

8. VISIT RUMTEK MONASTERY



Visiting the Rumtek Monastery is one of the most enjoyable things to do in Sikkim because this place is a spectacle of grandness. The monastery is located 23 km away from Gangtok and can be reached by car easily. This is a serious place of religion and religious studies. 

The Rumtek Monastery is an important part of Buddhist religion and traditions. Buddhists and spiritual people in general visit this monastery every year from all around the globe. It has a phenomenal architecture that will mesmerize you.
